Bass papers (100 dpi scans)

This is an index of 100 dpi scans[1] of papers and information about Robert Bass. They are perhaps tangentially relevant to the orbital scenarios Grubaugh proposed.
[1] Note: done on an elderly scanner: about the same or a bit worse than the quality you'd get sending the paper copies I had via fax.

Of particular interest to Velikovskians or Talbottian Saturnists is the paper on Bode's Law, below. I note that the Bode's Law paper does not actually provide a mechanism for moving from a Talbottian Saturnist solar system (with Jupiter and Saturn at 1au) to the current solar system; specifically, no source of the needed energy and angular momentum is supplied, nor any strong argument that such a massive reorganization could happen within a couple tens of thousands of years as Talbott's hypothesis requires. It casts substantial doubt on the validity of backintegration studies, especially for small bodies, for anything beyond the last several thousand years, but IMHO not anywhere near enough to make specific Velikovskian or Saturnist scenarios plausible.

I had hoped to convert these papers to HTML, so they could be keyword-searched and cut-and-pasted into commentary. My elderly scanner and OCR software proved inadequate to the task: with these fonts and line placements, the error rate at 300dpi was too high. I intend to try again with a higher resolution scanner and more robust OCR software when I get a chance; but even so, I expect to keep 100 dpi scanned pages available, to make sure of preserving the original appearance in case of problems in the HTML copy.
